98 z28 camaro. It wont go over 5 mph, it starts up good sounds good but after a few mins. it almost dies,help!

i left work one night running about 55 mph, my rpms went from 1500 to 800. it ran like that for about a minute, than ran great. when i got home to my mother's house, got my boy, started the car, backed down the driveway. as i backed down the driveway and started on the road my car lost all power, sputterd, died, started back up, shaking real bad, then as i go up the driveway it kicks back in, and then almost dies, then kicks back in. I checked my oil and i was 3 quarts low, no oil leaks on driveway, oil light did not cut on. I filled it up with oil, and then started it up. Started up great sounded good but after idleing for about 5 min. it started to loose power. A friend looked at it and said there is no is no pressure coming out of my exhaust pipes. I have longtube headers, no cats, offroad y, loudmouth exhaust, slp cold air package, mass air flow sensor.
Need some answers before chevy looks at it and cost me $$$$$$.

I'd say either the timing chain went out or the distributor is bad. LT1's are really bad about the electronics going out.
