Does anyone know anything about Ford escort EXP's(1988)?
ARe they notorious for electrical problems? I cant seem to get spark to the coil, and ive tried everything, fuses, relays, Bought new coil, bought new rotar and points for inside of distributor, plugs and wires are good, brand new battery, checked all wiring and its good, replaced ignition module also. Now im thinking of running a constant power from batt. to toggle switch inside car and then to the positive on the coil plugin, so instead of key power ill have toggle switch power from constant. any suggestions, comments , and ideas would be helpful!
No points in the distribtor on an 88. Does the fuel pump run a sec when you turn the key to run? It sounds like maybe you have no power to the computer, and thus no spark. Checked the pcm power relay? Also the ground from battery negative to body? It won't start if that ground is bad.
