am i getting fd over by a&b muffler.....................?

ok listen see if you get me........
i installed some headers in my 84 chevy truck.so i had to get my exhaust cut and welded to make the connections to the headers...you get me so far? ok i had to remove my headers(leak at the block/headers connection) to reinstall some gaskets to the headers for the leak,so i HAD TO unbolt the connection at the header-exhaust connect point.
well a&b muffler put new connection but it looks like my OLD exhaust pipe is in the new pipe that connects at that point?i called the guy said it is a "collector'...a collector inside the exhaust pipe....i mean to me it looked like my old pipe, does this sound strage?sorry for the long drama..i love my truck,and i aint gonna get f0ed over when it come to it......thanks

when you put on a set of headers they weld a collector plate to the exhuast pipe to connect it to the headers so the can be easily removed if need be i had them on a lot of my vehicles
