Why do people call todays WWE childish?
When I grew into wrestling, there were trashmen, cowboys, pig farmers and clowns. There were guys with names like Mantaur, Dean Douglas and Disco Inferno. There was a guy, whose gimmick consisted of owning a snake, and another one, whose consisted of carrying a log to the ring and chanting "Ho". The most "impressive" heel stable of this time was called Dungeon of Doom and led by Kevin Sullivan.
There was a "kiss my foot match". At Wrestlemania.
Maybe it's just me, but with that experience, it's a bit hard to call that, what I see today, childish all the time, only because of midget jokes, Rey Rey and Supercena.
Because the people who use that term are children themselves. It's lime OMG its PG its going to suck blah blah blah. When in reality its just a solid program that aims to please more than one demographic.
