Prelude Civic Corolla
Refrigerant type (r12 or r134a)?

I am looking for a "first" car for my daughter to take to college. Can anyone tell me the first year that toyota (i.e. corolla, camry) and honda (i.e. civic, prelude, accord) switched to the new refrigerant (R134a). I was looking at a '94 toyota corolla and the dealer said it uses R12 but I am wondering if this is true?

I think you dealer is wrong,by 1994 most all vehicles were equipted with 134a systems.
