Bug invasion in my street !?

I live in Kent, England and since yesterday i have noticed all these weird little bugs on the path, there about 2x or 3x the size of ants, a brownie blackie colour and some have wings?
Why have they recently started showing now and what are they called ?

it sounds like there flying ants, we have them too. wait a couple of days and they should be gone. its this time of year and when it gets humid
