question about installing dual boot system?

I have presently Windows XP OS working on my PC. I would like to have a dual boot OS of Windows 98 & windows XP on my PC. Any body would provide me useful tips for stepwise installation of this dual boot on my PC. I have both the CDs for installation of dual boot.

Yeah it is simple but since you are presently running winodws xp, you can't install windows 98 with windows xp without installing the older winodws first.
If you want to go back to windows 98, you'll have to Format your current operating system . To do so, restart and boot with winodws xp CD. Let the setup run. When it comes to select installation drive, Select C: drive and Format it using FAT file system. when formatting completes and copying startsh, Turn off or restart your pc becuase we just want to format the drive with FAT file system so that you can install winodws98 onto that later.

Install windows 98 in C:

Boot your pc with Windows 98 CD and let the setup run, follow the instructions on screen. Install your windows in C: Drive.

After windows 98 is installed, you can Install windows XP ,just boot you pc using win xp Cd and let the setup run, choose D: Drive when it asks for the destination drive for installation. You May format D: drive either with NTFS or FAT file system. Both will work but If you format using NTFS system, You will not be able to access the drive using winodws 98. Since windows 98 Doesn't support NTFS file system. However, your Dual boot will work fine in both conditions.

when windows xp setup has completed installation, you'll be able to Dual Boot your pc.
