What's the difference with Tattoo needles? Read for more...?

My husband is getting into pro tattoo items (vs homemade guns & accessories) and I'd like someone in the biz to explain the difference to me, about the different needles, tips, and all. I know there's flat, magnum, and round, but the different number and letter combos totally baffle me. What is up with the stainless steel tips, vs disposable plastic?

Is there anything I need to watch out for, when purchasing all the necessary items? What should I avoid?

Lemme rephrase. He did tats back in Job corp, made at least 50 guns for ppl, and is A GREAT ARTIST! I'd like to see him BUY a gun, vs MAKE one. I need to know what is out there, and what the difference is!!!

well to start thing off a gun is what you kill people with tattoo "machine " is what you tattoo with but there is way too much info to tell you here best thing to do is start hanging out at tattoo studios and make Friends with some of them then ask for an apprenticeship then talk with them about machines i prefer mickey sharpz Paul rogers but there are lots more of good machines out there but as far as needles go there are so many but you use 3 0r 5 liners that are round for line work then your flat needles are for shade work and the mag needled are too mag needles are flat but have two rows of needles stack on each other for color or shade but there are round shaders two for color but for small spaces use the web alot research alot find a good artist near you hang out around the shop if i knew where you where i might be able to tell you a studio to go to hope i help any oh yeah a good place to get supplies is tattooproducts.com check them out that's where a get all my stuff ink needles etc.
