How do i find out what exhaust system fits my car?
How do i find out what exhaust system fits your car when your car is stuck on the street with the pipe hanging in a snow storm and u dont feel like hanging it at the bottom. The clamps and the pipe are completely corroded and i need the whole entire system changed. i dont think i can do it myself in this weather so a shop might be necessary. But how do i find a fitting kit?
You can go to any muffler shop and get a oem exhaust system with the same hangers as the original exhaust. You can buy the pipes from auto parts stores too.
To do it you will need to either jack the car up and put it on jack stands. You need room to work, and it is hard leveraging parts when your arms are extended.
Then you may need a air chisel to brake off broken rusted support bolts, unlees you can get a sawzall to cut it off.
Hardest is most exhausts are welded together. And not many people can do the welding correctly. It is important to weld it so deadly exhaust fumes can not leak into the car.
