How would I remove burnt oil from a stainless steel pan?
I just bought a really nice set of pans that are stainless steel and I left the pan on the burner unattended for a little to long. Needless to say I ended up with burnt olive oil in my pan. I can not get it out by soaking in soapy water or by scrubbing with my all-surface sponge. What are my other options? Keep in mind I want to try not to scratch up the inside of the pan
Easy Off makes a spray on oven cleaner that doesn't need to be heated up (the older types required you to spray it on your oven and then turn the oven on to high heat for a while). This stuff eats right through burned on grease and food. Just spray it on, let it sit for about 10 - 15 minutes (or until you can see it's eaten through the sludge), and then wash the pan out in the sink. It shouldn't harm the stainless steel. I used it on stainless steel pan lids that got that brown burned-on gunk on them and it worked great.
