Woodworkers, what type of plywood should I use?

I am building a monster truck arena for my 3 year old son. I have purchased casters and hinges (stainless) so that he can fold it up and pull it like a wagon. I've narrowed it down to using Oak, Maple, or Birch. All roughly the same cost (Oak a little more). I'll probably stain it to preserve the natural look. All suggestions appreciated.

Well, you need to keep in mind that since this is a play toy for your child, its going to take some dings, dents and bangs.

I'd use poplar plywood myself, and even paint some scenery on it. Poplar is a nicer grade than the common exterior grade plywood you see stocked everywhere. There are no voids and it takes painting/finishing really well. 3/4" poplar plywood is also a 7 layer plywood - makes it stronger than the more common 5 layer. I've used a lot of poplar plywood over the years (as well as poplar lumber). Things I built 20 years ago, with it, are still holding up strong.

If you want to stick with the three you mentioned, I'd go with Oak as my first choice, and Maple as my second. Birch in general is just too plain for my tastes.
