Galant Vr4 All Wheel Drive Swap?
I Have a 2003 Galant ES nd a non Running 1991 Galant VR4 I Wanna Kno If Its Possible making My 2003 Galant AWD By Taking Parts From the 1991 Galant nd Puttin it ON The 2003 Galant.....If So How Much Do Yuh Think It Wuld Cost....If Not Possible Wuld The Swap Work on a 1994 Mirage
It WILL work. They are running on the same chassis. Also, remember that the VR-4 is All Wheel Drive and Four Wheel Steering so consider that when this swap is done. While the system is similar to the Evo's system, it is more like the 3000GT's system. Also, this will be a very costly project. In all honesty, I would selling the 1993 Galant and repairing the Galant VR-4. It is a very rare car and commands a high price.Also, the engine replacement would be a lot cheaper The 4G63t found in the VR-4 is worth replacing. I believe that only a 1000 or so were made. Mitsubishi also made a Galant GSX- which is essentially your 1993 car with All Wheel Drive FYI.
Update: I just realized that this was about an '03 Galant. I was thinking '93. No, the drivetrain won't fit.
