Which is a better buy?

Here are my criteria:
1) My budget is no more than $16,000 or so (including extended warranty)
2) At least 30 MPH on the highway (on cruise)
3) Want this car to last at least 200,000 miles (most important)
4) Looking to get a used one no more than a year or two old.

Additional details: I currently own a Chevy Malibu with over 145,000 miles on it so far, with nothing major going wrong with it yet (also still have the original alternator in it). I've done routine maintenance on it. However, I am afraid to get another American-made car next time -- afraid I won't be so lucky. My stepsister bought a Malibu at the same time -- same year -- as I and had to sell hers at around 70,000 miles because of thousands upon thousands of dollars of repairs, plus changing out of four (FOUR!) alternators.)
I said "MPH" above when I meant to say "MPG" (miles per gallon).

i suppose we can only judge the cars we have had or have.

My personal experience is with Nissan iam on my 5 atm.

Reason stay with these i love there cars and have at this point never let me down.
I sold one to my brother a 180sx and its into really high miles and still going strong.
I sold another with over 200.000 on the clock and still drove like new and made a profit on the sale.
I drove my last car 2000 miles with only a very very few short power nap stops.And it got me there with no problems at all and even being a sports car it didnt even cost that much.and the ride was great comfy no back pains and it didnt feel like i had even do a journey when i got there.
So this is why i stuck with Nissan the parts can be dear but go wrong a lot less with the net its easier to shop around for best price parts.
The cars go into higher miles with no problems and there comfy.
This is my experience.I wont knock the other makes as i havent driven them apart from trying friends cars out up the street and back.
Which car thats your choice as you need to see the type you like and pick a few and test drive them if you can.As we all tell you which car has been best for us but each car feels different to each driver as where all shaped big and small and have our own taste.
Even if you use the advice on here about a car and see if you like it and take it from there.
Make sure you get a car that has been looked after and deff had a good service history.
