Question about TDC camshaft/crankshaft?
Ok, integra gsr engine, dohc, vtec, 4cyclinder
Intake/Exhaust below refer to location of camshaft
- - -
Intake - 0 Degree or 12:Oclock or exactly on top
Exhaust -0 Deg.. or 12:oclock or ex....
-->Result - Piston 1 is at TDC
- - -
Intake - 90 Degree or 3:oclock
Exhaust -90 Deg.. or 3:o..
-->Result - Piston 2 is at TDC
- - -
Intake - 180 Degree or 6:oclock
Exhaust -180 Deg.. or 6:ocl..
-->Result - Piston 3 is at TDC
- - -
Intake - 270 Degree or 9:oclock
Exhaust -270 Deg.. or 9:ocl..
-->Result - Piston 4 is at TDC
Looking at the crankshaft, piston 1&4 move together and piston 2 &3 move together.
a)Is it safe to assume that for every 360 degree rotation of intake camshaft, the crankshaft rotates 720 degrees?
b) When they indicate piston 1 is at TDC, is it just some timing term, or does it refer to the actualy physical location of the piston. If it refers to the location of the piston, is it fully up, ind the middle of the cylinder or fully at the bottom.
