What exactly is there differnence between a supercharger and turbo charger?

i know HP is different but by % how much, and does a supercharger need the same stuff as a turbo...ie...intercooler, piping, headers, ....i know it need a good fuel management, and also

Superchargers are powered DIRECTLY from the engine (usually the lower pulley). Turbochargers are powered by the exhaust flow. The big difference is that superchargers are active all the time, and turbos only after the engine spins up. Turbochargers use intercoolers, (cooling between the turbo and the engine). Most superchargers use pre-cooling( cooling the air before pressurizing it). The purpose of cooling either way is to increase the density of the charged air. In order to hook up a turbo, modification of the exhaust system is necessary. For the supercharger, it is recommended, so the increased airflow can be utilized.
Think of an engine as an air pump. You can't use the extra if you cant put fuel in it, nor can you use it if you can't move it out efficiently enough. HOPE THAT HELPS!
