m3, xb, matrix, or wrangler?
Should I get a 2007 mazda3, 2008 scion xb, 2004 toyota matrix, or a 2004 jeep wrangler? All cars are in good condition and have low miles. I need a good amount of room to carry sports equipment and books.
Is the mazda 3 a hatchback or a sedan?
Out of the above, i would choose:
Mazda 3
Scion xB
Toyota Matrix
Jeep Wrangler
The Mazda comes first because both the sedan and the hatchback offer decent cargo room, and they're extremely fun to drive. It's also one of the newer cars you listed, and they're comfortable, great on gas, and pretty reliable.
next comes the xB. The xB is roomy, but oddly styled. For some reason, even though Scion is a division under toyota, Scion gets lower reliability ratings than Toyota. Also, ALL scion models were voted most ticketed, giving you a higher than necessary insurance cost.
The Matrix is a great car, it's built off the Corolla platform, and shares it's mechanical features w/the pontiac vibe. One problem that multiple people have with this car is the failure of the Computer, which is quite a costly repair (i know a few people who own matrix's who have had to take theirs in). Definitely ask a mechanic to check this car out really well if you do end up buying it.
Last is the Wrangler, becuase it's expensive to insure, unsafe, unreliable, and gets really bad MPG- totaly impractical for a student budget.
