mitsubishi eclipse GST?
I am about to buy a 1997 gst with 120k on it, it is super clean and in awesome shape, with a few modifications, 14b turbo, 3in downpipe, exhaust and turbo intake manifold, hks blow off valve, B&m short throw shifter, and it has a 7 bolt motor in it, it hasnt gotten crankwalk so far, and runs really good and strong. what would the ups and downs of this be? do you think it would get crankwalk in the future? soon? does it sound like a good purchase? i dont want to get it and have it get crankwalk soon. lemme know of any suggestions and anything else.
thanks yall
As long as the engine has been overhauled recently, you should be ok. I bought a 98 GST, with 80k miles that was supposed to have been rebuilt, with less than 500 miles on engine. Well two weeks later the balance shafts locked up, witch broke the timing belt, screwed up the oil pump, messed up the head and valves. My husband and I totally rebuilt it (again, the right way), and we eliminated the balance shafts. All in all we have a faster car than we bought, because we ended up getting a bigger turbo, in all that mess we did quite a few upgrades. Never had a problem since, and we've had it for 3 years now.
