What does it mean when a catalitic converter says it direct fit but exept H.O.?
i want to change the catalytic converter on a 1990 geo prizm gsi.
That means that the catalytic converter you are looking at will fit a engine that is non high output. The HO engine requires a different catalytic converter part number. On some of your HO cars exhaust size is a larger diameter pipe. I would not try to install a HOconverter on a non HO car and vice versa,,there is more to it than just the pipe size,,you must also be concerned with back pressure specifications. On todays cars you only look for proplems when you try to interchange parts like that,,,always use what the manufacturer reccomends.. Good Luck
