Best prformance and visual mods for a 2004 mustang v6?
I recently got a 2004 mustang v6. as of now the car is bone stock. it needs a new exhaust system because the exhaust is leaking and a recent wreck (now fixed) caused problems. I was going to get the Pypes 409 Stainless Steel Catted X-pipe and Pypes 409 Dual Cat back Exhaust. I was wondering if these are good choices and what sound/performance gain to expect.
I also was wondering what other modifications i should look into to make it look and perform well.
I do not have a ton of money to spend ( college student) and dont tell me to get a GT because i got this car very very cheap from a junkyard. (its an easy fix and my dad is a great mechanic, he buys cars from junkyards and rebuilds them)
If you can afford it, definitely go with some headers too. Sounds like you already have a good cat-back/X-pipe system, but what restricts flow the most is the manifolds coming straight outta the engine. Underdrive pulleys are really cheap and will give you about 8 hp. Try to find a cheap cold air intake too, not that $300 overpriced crap.
