1990 Chev 350 TBI engine races at idle?

After the engine warms up (approx 3-4 mins) on my 1990 Chev 1/2 ton 2wd truck, the engine idle RPM increases significantly and doesn't return to normal regardless of driving conditions. I've checked for vacuum hose and gasket leaks (sprayed an aerosol can of carb cleaner all over the vacuum lines, intake and TB gaskets, etc), cleaned the butterfly valve inside the throttle body, reset timing to 0 degrees BTDC, replaced the idle air control (IAC) valve but can't trace this problem to any of the normal symptons. I checked trouble codes last night. Am getting codes 42 (ignition control circuit) and 45 (rich exhaust).

My 17 year old son drives this truck so I need to find the cause of this racing idle problem QUICK before he runs into something. Any help finding the cause of this problem would be greatly appreciated ... thanks.

sounds like the fuel pressure regulator is gone bad or is going bad and that is why you are getting the rich exhaust code because you are burning to much gas and that is why your idle is to high. As for the ign code my guess would be the ignition mo-dual is also bad , the mo-dual you can change yourself but as for the fuel pressure regulator you will probably have to take it to a shop, you may want to anyway just to make sure that is what it is but that is where i would start
