Are there any legends left in the WWE when Triple H, Chris Jericho and The Undertaker retires?
I'm not sure if I would call Edge, John Cena and Randy Orton legends yet. Are there any legends left in the WWE the day Triple H, Chris Jericho and The Undertaker retires? They are obviously all legends in their own way.
Kane. He has finally received a decent title run as World champion and gained some decisive victories over the Undertaker. Plus, prior to being Kane he does have a lengthy history of other gimmicks he has used. I can see Kane being called a legend and one day being inducted into the Hall Of Fame.
Rey Mysterio a legend? Absolutely not! When compared to true legends like Ric Flair, Andre The Giant, Harley Race and the Von Erich's, Mysterio is nothing more than a footnote.
Big Show. No. He made have had a bunch of titles, but he has never had a title reign that could be called epic. He simply does not have the presence that Andre The Giant had and he never will. The trouble with Big Show is that he is used to much as a comedy act.
Goldust. I don't see how you can call a man who has never main evented a Pay Per View a legend. Yes, Dustin Rhodes has been around for a while, but he hasn't even surpassed his father, and at this late stage of his career I doubt that he ever will.
Mark Henry a legend? Moving right along.
Finlay. Finlay is a tough one. He is a veteran for sure. He has held various titles and has trained many wrestlers. He's been wrestling since he was very young. It would be so much easier to call Finlay a legend of he had a World title run, and if the WWE hadn't saddled him with that stupid leprechaun.
William Regal. Regal is, in my mind, a legend. But, the WWE has never used him properly. Yes, he has had Intercontinental titles, Tag Team titles and European titles, but no World titles, not even the ECW title? William Regal is the best technical wrestler the WWE has had in a long time, but he is utilized mostly an enhancement talent.
John Cena. No, John Cena, despite his popularity among middle schoolers, is not a legend in wrestling. 15 years from now I may call him a legend. Not now. his career is still to young. Is he even 30 years old yet? To be called a legend you need to be time tested, not fresh off the boat. It takes more than being the popular guy now.
